Obituary: Richmond Times Dispatch Sat. Dec 27, 1969. J. Henley Walker succumbs at 94. Walkerton - J. Henley Walker, 94, a retired Virginia Highway Department official died Friday in a Richmond hospital. He served as highway district engineer in Richmond, Fredericksburg and Salem. He was employed by the Highway Department from 1925 until his retirement in 1955. Mr. Walker is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harriet Walker dukes of Wheeling WVA and Mrs. Virginia Walker Kemper of Norfolk; two sons, William M. Walker of Washington, D.C. and J. Henley Walker, Jr. of Walkerton. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday in Hollywood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Richmond Home for Boys and the Crippled Children’s Hospital in Richmond.
