From a very prominent family in York Co. Her grandfather, Capt. Raleigh Croshaw, came to Jamestown in the Second Supply in Sept. 1608. He was the author of one of the complimentary verses prefixed to Capt. John Smiths’s General History, 1624. She was mentioned in her father’s will dated in 1667 and again in 1669.
