Misc. Notes
As told by her son Bathurst in his Recollections: “My Mother was born May 11, 1844 and died in 1935. Her father was born in 1790, the year after George Washingto was inaugurated President of the United States; so my mother and her father lived during the administration of every President from Washington into Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration.”

Cousin Fannie Bagby, wife of Thomas Bagby, used to say to me, “When I was first married, there were three Mrs. Fannie Bagbys, who were well known around Stevensville. Capt. Bagby’s wife (Fannie Singleton Walker) was known as the pretty Mrs. Fannie Bagby; your Uncle Dick’s wife, of Petersburg, as the good one; and I, as the smart one.” But the good Mrs. Fannie Bagby and the smart Mrs Fannie Bagby would have given their eye-balls to have been known as the pretty Mrs. Fannie Bagby.28
