Served on the Commission of Peace (county court) in 1735. In 1739, along with his neighbor Humphrey Hill of Hillsborough and several others, he was charged with negotiating with workmen on behalf of the county to repair the Morocosack Bridge, which lay in the upper part of the King and Queen County. In 1742 John Walker’s tobacco warehouses are mentioned in a government statute to consolidate inspection of tobacco shipments in fewer sites. Walker’s was one of two sites established in the county to be used for inspection.
